Good Evening Cardinal Parents, We have one full day of school tomorrow and two early release days Wednesday and Thursday. We will have our final awards day programs on Wednesday for K-4 and will celebrate our final awards day program and Moving Up Day with our 5th graders on Thursday. Last week we completed EOG testing in grades 3-5. Students who did not meet proficiency on the EOG will have the opportunity to take the test again on Monday June 3rd, Tuesday the 4th and Wednesday the 5th. We will have a remediation day this Friday to help review and prepare students for the second testing opportunity. Buses will run on their regular schedule for those students who need to return Friday and next week for testing. If you are a car rider then please follow the same routine for drop off in the morning . Letters were sent home with this information for those who need to retake one or all of the EOG tests. Many times our students do better the second time taking the test. and we had many students who missed a passing score by just a point or two. This test can help your child improve their test scores as they move to the next grade level, can help us determine any pending promotion retention decisions and can also improve our overall school performance grade. Report cards will be sent electronically on June 6th and we will send all other important information home this week on Wednesday. Please be on the lookout for any letters regarding summer reading academy for 2nd and 3rd grade students. which will be held at Coopers Elementary. We had a blast last week at field day and it looked like all the students enjoyed the races and events despite the rain last Friday. Thank you for all your support as we look to end this school year with a great last week. Good night.

Good Evening Parents,
I have two important items to share this evening. First we sent home letters with EOG scores and information regarding students having another opportunity to take the test on June 3rd, 4th or 5th for those who did not meet proficiency but have passed their classes for the year. This second opportunity will help determine our students true understanding of the content and their best proficiency level. It is also a way to help your child meet the NCPS promotion standards. Many times our students do better the second time on these tests which will also help our school performance grade. The second item for this evening is that tomorrow is field day! We are hoping the weather will hold out for us so our students can compete in races and have a great Friday of fun to end this long week of testing. If the radar is not looking good then we will move our field day races from the field to the gym. We look forward to a great day regardless of what the weather brings. Thank you and have a good night.

Good Evening Cardinal Parents,
We are geared up for EOG testing tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday. Our 3-5 students will take the math test tomorrow, the reading test on Tuesday and 5th grade students will take their science test on Wednesday. Our students are ready for the tests and just need a good night's rest and a positive mindset knowing they have worked hard all year. We have our Field Day set for Friday the 24th. Please be sure to look at any info that was sent home for Webbys and Chick Fil A orders. Next week Monday is the Memorial Day Holiday so there will be no school on Monday. Wednesday and Thursday May 29th and 30th are early release days and awards days. Awards day schedules were sent out last week please confirm with your child's teacher if you are unsure of the time. We will send home a lot of end of year letters with test scores and next steps for anyone who may not have met proficiency on the EOG. Please be on the lookout for these. Summer reading camp will be for eligible second and third grade students only and will be held at Coopers Elementary School starting the second week of July. Those letters will also be sent home so if you have a second or third grader be on the lookout in case your child receives an invitation. We start this week off with the battle of testing and we will end it with a celebration of a fun field day. Let's get it. Good night.

Good Evening Cardinal Parents,
I thought I sent my regular message on Sunday evening but for some reason it never went out and I just realized it today. Tomorrow is the last of our 3 day EOG spirit week. It will be Gameday and we will channel our inner champion as we work to beat the EOG this year. Students and staff can wear their favorite team gear as we get ready to beat the EOG. We will have some students begin their EOG testing on Thursday and Friday of this week. You have already been or will be notified if your child is going to be testing this week. The rest of our 3rd-5th grade students will be testing on Monday and Tuesday the 20th and 21st for math and reading and then 5th graders will take science on Wednesday the 22nd. We have lots of raffle prizes for students to win for being at school on testing days, and for beating their NC check in score on the EOG. As a reminder field day will be on Friday May 24th. K-2 will be from 8:30-11:00 and 3-5 will be from 12:00-2:30. Final awards day programs will be on May 29th for k-4 and May 30th for 5th grade. Teachers will send the schedule for the 29th as it is an early release day so the awards day programs will be different from when they were held throughout the year. Thank you for your continued support these last few weeks of school and through this testing season. Good night.

🍎✏️ Join us in celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week at Nash County Public Schools! 🌟 Let's show gratitude to the amazing educators who inspire, support, and empower our students daily. 💙 #ThankYouTeachers #TeacherAppreciation #TeacherAppreciationWeek #NCPS #NCPSchools #NashCPSchools

Good Evening Cardinal Parents,
We are geared up for another week of hard work at NES. This week is teacher appreciation week so we are excited to celebrate and honor our staff for all their hard work. Please join Mrs. Denton, our PTA and me as we take time to thank them for their leadership and guidance in teaching our students. We begin our end of year mClass reading assessments this week for K-3. This is the assessment that will determine our K-2 student growth and it is a pathway to proficiency for our 3rd graders. We have two weeks left for our 3-5 students to prepare for their end of grade tests in reading and math and for 5th grade science as well. We want all our students to show what they know and perform to the best of their ability on these tests as they are one component of the NCPS promotion standards. As a reminder our final awards day programs for K-4 are on May 29th and 5th grade Moving Up Day will be on May 30th. Field Day is Friday May 24th with our K-2 at the field from 8:30-11:00 and our 3-5 from 12:00-2:30. Thank you for your continued support as we rise to the occasion of ending this year on high note for our students and as we celebrate our teachers this week! Good night.

Good Evening Cardinal Parents,
We are ready to finish off the month of April and bring on May this week. We have an early release day on Wednesday May 1st this week. Our 5th graders will take their science check in assessment on Tuesday the 30th. This is a great opportunity for them to practice for the science EOG. This test is very similar to the EOG they will take later on in May. This last month of school is critically important for our students in meeting the NCPS district promotion standards and for our school as our performance on the EOG tests determines our status with the state. While we do not want to add extra stress and pressure to these tests we also want to make sure our students perform to the best of their ability. We thank you all for your encouragement and support over the next few weeks as we make our final preparations. Our K-3 students will also take the end of year mClass reading assessment which they have taken already for the beginning of the year and middle of the year. These assessments will be taken between May 7th and May 15th. We will have our last awards day programs the final week of school for K-4 on May 29th times will be sent next week and 5th grade Moving Up Day will be May 30th at 9:00AM. Field day will be held on Friday May 24th with K-2 taking place from 8:30-11:00 and 3-5 from 12-2:30. We look forward to a great final month of school. Thanks again for all your support. Good night.

Good Evening Cardinal Parents,
After a rainy weekend we are ready to start another week at school. Our 5th graders have one more NC Checkin assessment to take tomorrow. We are using these final check ins to figure out where our students are doing well and where we need to continue to focus with the last four weeks before EOG testing begins. Our K-3 students will complete their end of year mClass reading assessment starting May 7th. Those assessments are completed one on one with their teachers. Progress reports for the last nine weeks will go home tomorrow. Please be on the lookout for them. Our 3rd-5th grade students will be performing Wonka the play this Thursday and Friday. We are excited to see this performance and know our students and staff have worked hard in preparation for this production. We look forward to a great week and thank you for continuing to encourage your child to live out our Nashville pledge each day as they work to be their very best. Good night.

Good Evening Cardinal Parents,
We are excited to be back at school after a long Spring Break. I hope everyone enjoyed their time at home and are ready to get back to the work of school. We have just under two months left and there is much to do and many events happening. Our annual Book Fair begins tomorrow and will run through April 15th. It will be closed on Friday the 12th due to our Science Day event. Thursday April 11th it will be open for after school shopping from 3:00-5:30 and then again after our 6:15pm PTA meeting until 7:15. Please see the information sheet that was sent home before break so you know when your child will attend during the week and how you can sign up for online payments.
Tomorrow is the solar eclipse and we have partnered with the town of Nashville to allow students who are signed up to dismiss starting at 2:00 in the gym. If you are planning to having your child attend then you should have completed the form for the town. No classrooms will have glasses to watch the event live at school so if you want your child to experience this event then be sure to sign up through the town and know you will have to check out your child at the gym and walk with them to the field to participate. Lastly, we have our school basketball tournament this Saturday and are looking for any concession stand donations. We are looking for can sodas, bottled water, gatorade, individual bags of chips, airheads, skittles, and candy bars. We will send reminders for all these events through text messages this week. Thank you for all you do to support our school.

Good Evening Cardinal Parents,
We have a four day week this week and will begin our spring break on Friday. Report cards will be sent electronically tomorrow. Please be sure to look for them so you are aware of your child's status for the year. We will have our 3rd nine weeks awards day program on Thursday. Invites for those students receiving awards should have been sent last week. This summer there will be a reading camp for those 2nd and 3rd grade students who are not on track to be proficient in reading. We will be sending letters this week for those students who may be eligible for this opportunity. We will also send academic trouble letters for those students who are in jeopardy of not meeting the NCPS promotion standards. We look forward to a great week at school and thank you for all your support of our school.
