Good Evening Cardinal Parents, After a fast and furious first week back after break we are ready for another one. Tomorrow is the last day for the book fair and it will be open after school for parents to come and shop from 3-5:30. Students in 3rd-5th grade will take their third and final NC Check In assessment for the year tomorrow and Tuesday as they continue to prepare for the EOGs. Please be sure your child is on time to school and ready to do their best on this test. It will help us to best prepare them for the end of grade tests. This week on Monday and Wednesday NCPS will hold two community forums. Tomorrow will be Winstead Ave Elementary and Wednesday will be at NCHS. These forums will show the proposed new school attendance zones for NCPS in 2024-25 school year. Our school will be affected by these new school attendance zones so if you live in the Eastern portion of our school district then you shoule plan to attend one of the meeting to be sure you know if your address will be included in changes for next school year. Thanks to all who helped us this weekend with the tee shirt sales and basketball tournament. Your efforts and donations have not gone unnoticed. Progress reports for the last nine weeks go home Monday the 22nd. Please keep u to date with your childs progress as we finish these last 6 weeks of school for the year. Good Evening Cardinal Parents, We are excited to be back at school after a long Spring Break. I hope everyone enjoyed their time at home and are ready to get back to the work of school. We have just under two months left and there is much to do and many events happening. Our annual Book Fair begins tomorrow and will run through April 15th. It will be closed on Friday the 12th due to our Science Day event. Thursday April 11th it will be open for after school shopping from 3:00-5:30 and then again after our 6:15pm PTA meeting until 7:15. Please see the information sheet that was sent home before break so you know when your child will attend during the week and how you can sign up for online payments. Tomorrow is the solar eclipse and we have partnered with the town of Nashville to allow students who are signed up to dismiss starting at 2:00 in the gym. If you are planning to having your child attend then you should have completed the form for the town. No classrooms will have glasses to watch the event live at school so if you want your child to experience this event then be sure to sign up through the town and know you will have to check out your child at the gym and walk with them to the field to participate. Lastly, we have our school basketball tournament this Saturday and are looking for any concession stand donations. We are looking for can sodas, bottled water, gatorade, individual bags of chips, airheads, skittles, and candy bars. We will send reminders for all these events through text messages this week. Good Evening Cardinal Parents, We have a four day week this week and will begin our spring break on Friday. Report cards will be sent electronically tomorrow. Please be sure to look for them so you are aware of your child's status for the year. We will have our 3rd nine weeks awards day program on Thursday. Invites for those students receiving awards should have been sent last week. This summer there will be a reading camp for those 2nd and 3rd grade students who are not on track to be proficient in reading. We will be sending letters this week for those students who may be eligible for this opportunity. We will also send academic trouble letters for those students who are in jeopardy of not meeting the NCPS promotion standards. Of course there are college and blank t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies for $3 each in the media center! Come and shop 'till you drop!!

We are enjoying reading Clementine at school and hope your family is enjoying it together as well. Tomorrow is the last day of the 3rd nine weeks grading period. Our PTA will be hosting a yard sale please be sure to check the flyer with information regarding this event coming up on Thursday and Saturday of this week. Our spring break begins on Friday March 29th. Our third awards day program will be held on Thursday the 28th. Invitations will be sent for those students receiving awards at this program. Good Evening Cardinal Parents, We have 3 school days for students this week as Thursday and Friday are teacher workdays. Let's take advantage of each of these days to get the most learning in that we can. Tuesday is school picture day. Information was sent home last week regarding picture package information. Our battle of the books team will participate in the district competition on Tuesday as well. Next Monday March 18th is the last day of the 3rd nine weeks grading period. Please be sure your child finishes strong these last few days of the grading period to be in the best position to meet the NCPS district promotion standards. We hope everyone is enjoying reading Clementine together and are sticking to the chapter assignments so we can finish up the book before spring break. Good Evening Cardinal Parents, Friday we had our Nashville Reads kick off assembly to reveal our book for this year. Our students found out we are reading the book Clementine! All students will bring home their very own copy of the book tomorrow. We will all read Clementine together for the next four weeks and will have a great time enjoying the book. We hope all our families will read together however there will be recorded readings of each chapter sent out to add an extra way for your child to enjoy the book with an adult. Thursday March 14th and Friday March 15th are teacher workdays so there will be no school for students on those days. The third nine weeks grading period ends on Monday March 18th and report cards go home on Monday March 25th. Our Spring Break begins on March 29th. We want to have a great month of March as we move into the spring season. Please help us remain focused on learning and having our students put forth their best effort to perform and achieve at a high level. This grant, provided by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and managed through the Department of Public Instruction, highlights the district's proactive approach to student safety.

Good Evening Cardinal Parents, We are ready to kick off another full week of learning at school tomorrow. Read Across America is right around the corner and we will kick off our"Nashville Reads" event this Friday where we will reveal our book title and give out books to all our students. We will then spend the next four weeks reading together and enjoying the a book for all our students and families to talk about together. So keep an eye out on Friday evening for students to bring home their book after the big reveal. Our PTA will be hosting a garage sale event on March 21st and 23rd so please be on the lookout for the flyer to come home and be posted. We hope this opportunity will be both helpful to families' as well as helping our PTA with their playground upgrade initiative. Please remember to bring your ID to the front office for check outs. This is a safety protocol we have in place for our students. Lastly we have a few weeks left in the third grading period so be sure to keep track of your child's progress. Good Evening Cardinal Parents, We are ready to kick off our five day work week with students tomorrow morning. This week we have a fun family event with our PTA on Thursday evening. We will have a Parents vs boys basketball team match up and our staff will take on our girls basketball team. Our cheerleaders will be there to support everyone who is playing and the event is sure to be fun for all. The event is free but we will be taking dollar donations at the door, selling $10 tee shirt bags, and will have concessions for sale during the games. The event will run from 6-7:30 and will include some half time cheers and fun half court shot games for those who are wanting to take the chance. We hope you will come out to support our PTA onThursday. We have a few weeks left for this third grading period and want to encourage all our students to keep working hard and coming to school with a positive spirit for learning each day.
