Effective Monday, December 2, 2024, all students enrolled in Math I, Math III, and Biology will have access to the Read Aloud feature for Benchmark and EOC assessments during the 2024-2025 school year. This feature is designed to enhance student comprehension by allowing them to hear the questions read aloud.
To use this feature, students will need to provide their own corded headphones that can connect to their school-issued device. It’s essential that these headphones are properly connected before the assessment begins to prevent accidentally triggering the icon and causing a misadministration.
We encourage all students currently enrolled in Math I, Math III, and Biology to take advantage of this valuable tool. To ensure smooth use of the Read Aloud feature, please make sure that your headphones meet the necessary requirements.
A flyer with additional details has been emailed to all students and parents with updated contact information in Infinite Campus. It is also available on our website at the bottom of the Live Feed section.

Rocky Mount High School thanks you and your family for being our valued partners as we
work together to educate the children in our district. Nash County Public Schools values
input from our community – and we need to hear from your child or children! Students
are important partners as we work to improve our communication, academic program
and overall experience for everyone through our district strategic plan.
In order to learn more about student experiences at school, we will be asking for your
child’s feedback via an online survey they will be completing at school between
December 2 - 13th. The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
We are asking that all of our students in grades 4 and up participate in the surveys, as
their feedback will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can
improve and adapt to better meet their needs. If a student doesn’t feel like they have
enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether.
We are not using student names so surveys will be anonymous. We are partnering with a
third-party vendor to support us in administering these surveys.
The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on School Climate, Teacher-Student
Relationships, School Safety, and expectations. Surveys are available for preview on the

Please notify us if you would like your child to opt out of taking the surveys by
contacting the school at (252)937-9050 no later than November 25. Thank you for

November is recognized as National Career Development Month! November 12-15. Career Development Week. We are extremely excited about the strides and impact that we are making in Career and Technical Education. See the attached flyer and join us by participating in Spirit Week. Our IB students are collecting new unwrapped toys from now until December 3rd. These toys will be donated to Peacemakers of Rocky Mount. Please consider donating! Any donation will be greatly appreciated
In observance of Veterans Day, Nash County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, November 11th. This important federal holiday allows us to honor the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
As a district, we join the nation in expressing our deepest gratitude to all veterans for their selfless service and sacrifice. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the veterans within our own community at Rocky Mount High School. Your courage and dedication inspire us all, and we are truly grateful for your service.

Today, we conducted a lockdown drill to reinforce our school safety protocols. This drill is mandated by both the state and our district to ensure that everyone is prepared for emergencies.
We’re pleased to report that the drill was successful. Please remember that the safety of our students at RMHS is our top priority.

Good afternoon! As Coronation is near, tickets need to be purchased for all attendees. To anyone who is considering attending- this includes parents and students- ticket sales will stop on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. If tickets have not been purchased by then, parents and students will no longer be able to purchase tickets.
