Good Evening Bear Family - What a great week we had this past week with our Trunk or Treat event. We were so happy to see so many of you participate. You should have received your student’s Report Card on Friday when they came home. Please remember that students must be passing their subjects with a 3 or higher in grades K-2, as well as 60 and above for Grades 3-5. Attendance Matters - students cannot miss more than 85% of the school year to be promoted, as well as the passing subjects. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your student’s teacher, or myself. This week, we have a lot of great things going on. Monday night, we have our Zaxby’s Spirit Night in Rocky Mount to support our Music Program. A portion of what is bought will go towards the Music Program at Englewood. This event is from 5-8 pm. Tuesday and Wednesday, our 3rd - 5th graders will take their NC-Check Ins for Reading and Math. On Thursday, we have our PBIS Celebration for the 1st Nine Weeks. We also have a Car Wash Fundraiser that will begin on Thursday for the Music Program. On Friday, our 3rd graders will be going to Briley’s Farm. Lastly, students that are submitting drawings for the NCPS Holiday Cards are due on Friday. The Square One Art Fundraiser is due on November 11 for all online orders. Over the next few weeks, students in grades 4 and 5 will be trained on utilizing the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System. The system allows students and staff to anonymously report safety concerns to a national multilingual crisis center that is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Students will learn how to use the system and how to spot signs of at-risk behaviors, potential violence and other safety concerns that should be reported. Submitted tips are received by a national multilingual crisis center, then sent to local school leaders and, when necessary, to local 911 centers for immediate response. This system gives our students and staff an additional tool to prevent acts of violence and provide assistance to students in crisis. Say Something is intended to be used by students in grades 4-12, and by staff, and is currently utilized by our middle and high schools. More than 5,000 schools nationwide are using this program, which is offered by Sandy Hook Promise, a national nonprofit organization. Reminder: We have Trunk or Treat tonight! We will be in our back parking lot (where car pool picks up and drops off) from 5pm-7pm. Can't wait to see everyone! We also want to thank our Bear Family for their candy donations. We ended up with 414lbs of candy!

Candyman Pickup Reminder: We have about 13 students left whose orders need to be picked up and signed for by the parent/guardian. The attached flyer list the dates and times for this week.

Good Evening Bear Family - This past week was an exciting week at Englewood with our CandyMan Main Event and our items arrived. Please remember if you sold items, they are here at the school for pickup. We have an Author Visit this week for students. This is going to be a great assembly! Our Trunk or Treat event is this Tuesday, Oct 29 from 5-7 pm in the back parking lot. We also have our Read to Achieve testing for some of our 4th grade students on Wednesday. Our 4th Graders have a Field Trip to the Farmer’s Market for Heritage Day on Thursday. It is also Red Ribbon Week this week; please feel free to participate where we say no to drugs: Monday - Wear Red Tuesday - Wear Neon colors and sunglasses Wednesday - Patriotic dress Thursday - Costumes (No masks or weapons) Friday - Pajama Day Lastly, our Report Cards are scheduled to go home on Friday. Parents still need to order pictures? Our NEW Code Lookup Tool is now available. You can simply scan the QR code and follow the directions to access your child's picture ordering gallery. No need to contact Customer Service for an access code! *Student last name and Student ID number will be required for data security.*

Good Evening Bear Family - Just a reminder that tomorrow, Thursday, October 24 is an Early Release Day. We dismiss at 1 pm tomorrow. Please remember that buses will arrive 2 hours early home tomorrow. Tomorrow, we are also having a Pink Out Day to honor all breast cancer warriors. Friday, October 25 is a Teacher Workday. Students do not come to school on Friday. We look forward to seeing your students tomorrow for the early release day.

Good Morning Bear Family - Our CandyMan items have arrived. We will have pickup this week beginning today through Thursday from 8 am - 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm. On Wednesday evening, we will be available for pick up in the Multipurpose Room from 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm. On Friday, pickup will be from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Please remember that some items are perishable. Thank you so much for your hard work for selling these items.
